So first I ended up traveling with some guys I had met in Hamburg which was great considering I had no headphones at the time. Definitely made the trip more enjoyable and I got to speak a lot of German.
After losing a few things includin my folder of important documents and stuffing around trying to find the hostel I arrived and whilst they (Hans brinker hotel) may claim it to be the worst hostel in the world I'm sure there are worse. For example their happy hour is pretty incredible 2 PINTS of Heineken for 4 euro was a magical experience. They also provided free food quite often which for a poor solo traveller like me was brilliant. On the downside the actual rooms were awful, someone threw up in our bathroom on day 3 of my stay and it still has not been cleaned (day 6) plus they have their wonderful night club downstairs that you can hear music from at all hours.
After that my night got so wild that I went and did my washing.
Day 2
I was walking around the local area deciding what to do and stumbled upon a group about to do a bike tour so I said to myself why not? It was a great idea, riding around on a bike seeing the sights was a truly brilliant idea. Riding along the canals near the Anne frank house and the path under the rijksmuseum was just beautiful.
We finished the tour at a brewery, the name of which I can't remember at this early hour of the morning, however it was in a windmill.. Anyway they served us 5 different kinds of beers varying in percentage. They were only small portions though so I was not at all drunk.
After this the tour guide who was a south African Rasta that has lived here for the past 5 years asked if I wanted to join him at a coffee shop. I said yes and a couple from new Zealand came too, I must say it is very strong in Amstedam but it was definitely an experience worth doing. If you're judging me for doing that then whatever that's your opinion but it's legal in Amsterdam. I actually think their policies with drugs are brilliant. Junkies need treatment not to be thrown in jail and stoners are harmless. Anyway I won't go into detail with that but there it is.
Day 3
On this day I went back to the bike store from day 2 because I had a token for 50 percent off rental and got a bike and rode around the city again. Eventually I stopped at the rijksmuseum and to my delight I did not have to pay for entry due to being 18. Wow is all I can say about, there are some incredible pieces there, the Rembrandt pieces especially he was just amazing.
In the evening I ended up going to an ice bar with a friend I made at the hostel, I only went because her friend couldn't go because she had drank too much but still it was pretty fun.
Day 4
Once again I got a bike and rode around, went past a few of the finer sights including the beautiful Heineken brewery however I didn't go in, bookings were essential.
Later on in the evening I went out with my room mates who were from Finland, that was a pretty interesting night. We went to a few clubs but they weren't great, however later in the night we went to a gay bar and it was really fun.
Day 5
One of the biggest hangovers I've ever had, I slept until 2.30 before struggling to get out of bed and wandering about a k to get a kebab. I had a pretty chilled out day, didn't do too much until later on. Later in the evening I hung out with some English LADs and talked about football and drank beer which I genuinely didn't think I'd be capable of doing at this point in time. It was a good night but I did not stay until very late since I had to sleep given I have a relatively early flight at 9.30.
And now I'm sitting on the floor in the amsterdam airport listening to Rick James trying to drown out the awful screams of a few different children. If I have kids at some point I will not travel very far with them until they are at least 12. Over the duration of this trip I have just started to hate kids more and more.

Yes Simon I agree people with children should stay home. Their kids are always upset about something and should be home.
I think it is a bit silly, the kids have a rubbish time and don't truly appreciate it when they're younger.take them to the beach or something.
